Whether it’s been as a shop, a newsagents or a pub, this building has been serving the people of Brighstone and our many visitors with a welcoming smile for almost 200 years.

As The Five Bells, it was one of two public houses in the village during the 19th century and has a colourful history of smugglers & travellers as mentioned in the gazettes of the times. It is believed that the property dates back much further than this and is likely to be originally a farm building on the Waytes Court Estate.
